ML Capital launch AIFMD Platform with the MontLake Centurion Short Term Trading Fund
Dublin, 11th December 2014 – ML Capital Asset Management Ltd is delighted to announce the recent launch of the MontLake QIAIF Platform, offering a solution for managers looking to launch a regulated fund under the Alternative Investment Fund Manager Directive (AIFMD). Having successfully built the largest independent Irish UCITS platform with assets now standing in excess of $1 billion, the new platform launch was a logical step in further enhancing ML Capital’s product offering. The MontLake QIAIF platform is largely designed to assist alternative fund managers with both fund structuring and distribution in the EU and beyond, while complying with the AIFMD.
The first Sub-Fund to be launched on the new QIAIF platform is the Centurion Short Term Trading Fund, with initial investment from Old Mutual Global Investors multi-asset funds. The strategy will be sub-managed by Centurion Investment Management LLC, led by former Head of Trading at Crabel Capital Management, Stefan Behling and the former Global Head of FX Prime Brokerage at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Umran Zia. The Centurion Short Term Trading Fund seeks to capitalise on short term (intraday) gains through the systematic trading of the global futures markets with an edge gained in identifying and capitalising on observed market behaviour which persists through time while overlaying comprehensive risk management.
Umran Zia, CEO of Centurion Investment Management LLC commented: “We are delighted that Old Mutual Global Investors multi-asset funds have made an initial investment in our new QIAIF. We feel that this fund will become a key component in expanding our service offering to European investors. Our desire to work with ML Capital centered around ML's strong management team, dedication to client service, and true entrepreneurial spirit”.
Cyril Delamare, CEO and Founder of ML Capital remarked: “ML Capital is delighted to bring to market the Centurion Short Term Trading Fund through our new AIFMD platform offering. The dedicated and experienced team at Centurion have proven the effectiveness of their strategy and we thoroughly look forward to working with them going forward”.
